Why are so many minority children falling to the wayside? It's easy to put the blame on the government, parents, and the school system, but we as teachers are the first line of defense. We have the opportunity to change the leaders of tomorrow. If we cannot get help from our leaders, we must take our children education into our own hands. What can we do? First of all, we must raise the standardized test scores of the minority children. How can we do that? As teachers, we must go the extra mile to make sure the children learn the student expectations handed down by our state. We have to encourage the children and the parents to be more involved in their education. Discipline has to be under control and teacher effectiveness has to be at an all time high. Don't  be afraid to try something new and make learning fun for the children.  Is this goal truly attainable? Anything is attainable with hard work and dedication. Let's make a difference together.
